Satellite Mission Operations
Our Approach
ERT provides comprehensive satellite mission engineering and operations, maintenance, and sustainment for Federal clients including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the U.S. Space Force, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Our expert engineers prepare, deploy, and operate satellites and instruments to collect critical earth science data; our technologists communicate, process, and analyze these data; and our scientists leverage these data to drive data-based decisions to protect our resources and people.
Our team’s expertise includes:
- Antenna operations, maintenance, and sustainment engineering
- Data processing, archive, and dissemination
- Ground segment and network operations management
- Real-time anomaly detection and resolution
- Mission readiness and systems integration testing
- Operational procedure development and training

Supporting American Interests:
Key Facts
$25 K/YR
ERT’s work supporting SARSAT has resulted in a 63% reduction in physical services, saving $25K each year in power and cooling costs. In addition, our enterprise management tooling reduced server deployment from 48 to two hours.
>99 %
For NOAA’s Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) GVAR/GRB antennas and LRIT and GEONETCAST systems, ERT’s work sustains antenna availability at or above 99%.
>99 %
ERT streamlined NOAA’s procurement process and improved it to deliver >99% procurement renewals on time.
200 M
For NESDIS, ERT staff support data distribution averaging 200M files/1.2 PB per quarter.
What we do
Antenna operations, maintenance, and sustainment engineering
We provide 24x7x365 operations and system support for mission critical systems. Our team provides systems engineering, security, system administration, software engineering and development, and end user support.
Data processing, archive, and dissemination
ERT transforms environmental satellite data into products and services used to forecast weather and environmental predictions. In this capacity we provide comprehensive software and application support including all aspects of satellite data, infrastructure, networking, and help desk services across ground segment and network operations management.
ERT executes more than $20M in procurements annually for all software, hardware, and special projects for assigned missions/scope. As part of our procurement process, our team independently verifies the license use and host count across supported missions so we only pay for what we use and discontinue use of decommissioned or unused license or hardware.
Real-time anomaly detection and resolution
ERT supports low- and mid-earth, geostationary satellites that detect, process, and relay distress signals and alerts, and ground systems from aviators, mariners, and land-based emergency beacons to SAR authorities. Our team provides collaborative prototyping, pre-operational testbeds, and proving grounds to deliver accelerated and continuous improvement, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement so our customers can meet its heightened mission and provide high-quality, real-time predictions and sensor data assimilation and modeling services.
Mission readiness and systems integration testing
ERT’s security and configuration control activities, including continuous monitoring, POA&M management, and Authority to Operate (ATO) support, are directly translatable to EROS CAL/VAL and telemetry processing environments. ERT’s implementation of DISA STIG baselines, Nessus agents, and continuous SCA artifact collection showcases readiness to ensure security and operability of satellite-derived data systems. Operational procedure development and training.
We track, replace, and remove defective assets, update configuration documents, and support incident response testing, continuity of operations (COOP) tests, contingency tests, systems controls assessment (SCAs), penetration tests and high value asset tests. Our team supports 24x7x365 data collection, field equipment monitoring and quality control, and works with customers on site to investigate and provide real-time mitigations.
